Roderick Strong has defeated The Velveteen Dream to win the NXT North American Championship. Strong is just the fifth man to hold the title in history.

Velveteen Dream appeared to have the match in hand when Adam Cole hit him with a Superkick. The referee was distracted by Kyle O’Reilly and Strong hit the End of Heartache for the win.
The Undisputed Era now holds every male championship in NXT. Cole won the NXT Championship from Johnny Gargano at NXT Takeover XXV, O’Reilly and Bobby Fish won the NXT Tag Team Championships from the Street Profits on NXT TV and now Strong has won the North American Championship.
The match was the main event of NXT’s debut on the USA Network. The USA Network audience saw the first hour of the event. Meanwhile, the WWE Network is broadcasting the second hour of the show.
