ROH Chief Operating Officer Joe Koff has addressed rumors that the promotion will shut down for good, and not return from its hiatus.
In October, ROH announced that after the Final Battle event, the promotion would halt live events to be ‘reimagined‘ during the first quarter of 2022. All contracted in-ring performers were informed that they were going to be released from their contracts.
On an upcoming episode of the ROHStrong podcast, Koff states that the promotion will return, it’s only a matter of ‘when’. Discussing the hiatus, Koff notes (via PWInsider):
“What seeped into the narrative … is that we were shutting down, when all we announced is that we were not doing any live events in the first quarter. We never used the words ‘shutting down.’”
The full episode will be released on Monday (December 20).
ROH hopes to return with a Supercard of Honor event in April 2022. While an official date and location hasn’t been announced for the potential show, PWInsider reports that the venue had been booked and paid for before the hiatus was announced.
