With ALL IN selling out its 10,000 seat capacity in 30 minutes earlier this year, hopes were high when tickets went on sale for ROH & NJPW’s G1 Supercard show, taking place at WWE’s ceremonial home, Madison Square Garden, on the eve of WrestleMania 35. It appears those hopes will be fulfilled as first day sales have very positive.
MSG can seat around 15,000 fans, and with pre-sale tickets alone and ROH COO Joe Koff is stating that 60% of the tickets have been sold already. That would put it at around 9,000 tickets sold, with the general public being able to purchase the rest starting tomorrow, August 10. The arena itself is also hosting a pre-sale today, August 9, as well. At this rate, it appears we may be on course for another very quick sellout, similar to that of All In.

This is outstanding news, and WWE must surely be taking notice and be slightly concerned with how well non-WWE wrestling is performing. The G1 Supercard is in direct competition with the NXT TakeOver 24 hours prior to WrestleMania. I hope that tomorrow, we’ll be reporting that MSG has sold out.
