The pair first clashed on the August 4 ROH, in a silly, but good match. Both wrestlers played up the hero vs. villain dynamic, with the ‘Villain’ walking out with the victory.
Back in June, it was announced that the former WWE Cruiserweight and Tag Team Champion had signed with the promotion. Since his release from WWE back in 2010, Helms has competed mostly on the independent circuit. In 2015, he signed onto the then TNA as a road agent. He announced his departure from the company two years later.
Helms did make his triumphant return to WWE at the 2018 Royal Rumble, entering the elimination spectacle at number 21, but was quickly eliminated by John Cena.
The ROH Philadelphia Excellence show is shaping up like this:
- ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody & IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks vs. Silas Young & The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas) – ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championship
- Punishment Martinez vs. Dojo Pro Black Belt Winner Aaron Solow – ROH World Television Championship
WrestleTalk would like to hear your views on this rematch. Did you see the original? Do you think the Hurrican belongs in a wrestling ring in 2018? And would Marty Scurll make it in WWE? You can have your say on Twitter and Discord today.
