AEW ‘Dream Match’ Competitor Set For Upcoming ROH TV Taping ROH

With the Supercard of Honor show taking place on March 31, plans for two competitors on the upcoming Ring of Honor taping have been revealed.

ROH Supercard of Honor on Friday March 31 will see the AAA Mega Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo defend against Komander.

Vikingo has already made a mark in AEW, taking place in a “dream match” against Kenny Omega on the March 22 episode of Dynamite.

With AAA Mega Championship being defended on Friday, Dave Meltzer addressed plans for Vikingo at the upcoming ROH tapings on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“The go-home Ring of Honor show which will air on Thursday will be taped on Wednesday in St Louis.

“And, from what I understand, this has not been announced, I saw it on the Lucha Blog website… they do have their Lucha Libre connections.

“They say that Vikingo and Komander are going to be there and it makes sense if you’re going to do the go-home show for that and Vikingo and Komander have a singles match on the PPV on Friday night, it does make sense that they would be there.

“If nothing else, they’re on the ROH show. Maybe, after that showing, I would certainly want him to show up and do something on Dynamite as a follow-up, even if it’s just a run-in or an interview or something. I don’t know if it’s going to happen.

“I’d want to follow up with that thing, I’d do a video package. Again, he had that star-making performance but if you don’t follow up it dissipates essentially.”

This Wednesday, on AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega is set to face Jeff Cobb for the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship.
