ROH World Championship Match Announced For Final Battle 2021

ROH World Championship Match Announced For Final Battle 2021

A ROH World Championship match has been announced for the December 11 Final Battle pay-per-view, ahead of the promotion’s upcoming hiatus.

During the November 14 Honor For All event, Jonathan Gresham defeated Brody King to become #1 contender to the ROH World Title. Bandido successfully defended the gold against Demonic Flamita in the main event of the show.

This will be Gresham’s first shot at the World Championship since unsuccessfully challenging Jay Lethal for the gold in an ironman match in 2018.

ROH has released all talent from their contracts ahead of the promotion being ‘reimagined’ after the Final Battle event. Releases reportedly come into effect at the end of the year, with talents who had deals beyond January 1, 2022 to be paid until March 31, 2022.

The promotion will halt live events following the December 11 show, anticipating a return for April 2022 with Supercard of Honor. ROH reportedly plans to focus on non-contracted wrestlers after the promotion’s reboot.
