Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes Potential WWE Absence Update

WWE

An update has emerged regarding the potential WWE absences of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes ahead of filming for the live action Street Fighter movie.

The conclusion of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Roman Reigns, CM Punk and LA Knight all laid out by The Vision – the newly named faction of Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

With Reigns suffering a Curb Stomp, Spear and two Tsunamis at the end of Raw, many fans naturally began speculating whether “The OTC” could be set for some time off of television, particularly with production for the Street Fighter movie – of which Reigns is set to star in, alongside Cody Rhodes – expected to begin soon.

In an update on Reigns’ status following Raw, PWInsider reports that Reigns could still make more WWE appearances in the coming weeks, as production for Street Fighter is planned to begin on September 2.

Barring any delays Reigns’ commitments for the film are due to wrap up on the week of September 26, while Cody Rhodes is not expected to be on set as long as his former WWE rival.

Reigns is set to play the role of Akuma in the movie based on the long-running video game franchise, with Cody Rhodes cast in the role of Guile.

Cody Rhodes recaptured the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam Night Two, defeating John Cena – who was attacked post match by the returning Brock Lesnar.

We will provide further updates regarding Reigns and Rhodes’ filming for Street Fighter as more news becomes available.
