WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Finn Balor at Extreme Rules on September 26.
Balor challenged Reigns for the title on last week’s episode of SmackDown. Balor was ambushed before the match by The Usos. The former NXT Champion ultimately fell to the Tribal Chief’s guillotine choke.
On social media, WWE confirmed that Balor would receive another title match at the upcoming pay-per-view:

Following Reigns vs Balor on SmackDown, a heartbeat could be heard, leading many to speculate that Balor will bring ‘The Demon’ to Extreme Rules. Balor recently revealed that his supernatural persona will return.
Also set for Extreme Rules, Becky Lynch will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair. The Raw Women’s Title will be on the line with Alexa Bliss set to challenge Charlotte Flair.
Damian Priest is set to defend his United States Championship against former titleholder Sheamus. Randy Orton is set to square off with Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title.
