
WWE star Roman Reigns’ upcoming role in a recently announced Hollywood project has now been officially confirmed.
It was recently reported that Roman Reigns was in talks for his next Hollywood acting role, with him being set to feature in the upcoming live action Street Fighter movie based on the iconic video game franchise.
After it was reported that Reigns was in talks to star in the film, Fightful Select provided an update, noting that Reigns was reportedly in talks to play the role of Akuma in the movie.
Today, Reigns’ role in the movie has now been officially confirmed, with the Hollywood Reporter announcing that rapper 50 Cent will also be appearing in the movie.
In the report however, Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Reigns will be playing Akuma in the movie, saying:
Joe Anoa’i, aka (WWE) superstar Roman (Reigns), and martial artist-actor Andrew Koji (Warrior), are on the roll call as battler Akuma and lead character Ryu, respectively. Callina Liang (Presence) is playing Chun-Li.
It was also reported today that WWE creative had begun discussing Roman Reigns’ return to television ahead of this year’s SummerSlam event.
