Former WWE and Universal Champion Roman Reigns reportedly went to bat and pitched ideas to work with some released WWE stars.
Those released stars are AEW’s FTR, who, according to Fightful Select (subscription required and recommended), listed Roman Reigns among the names in WWE who wanted to work with them and had pitched to do so.
Others that were listed by the duo as going to bat for them included Randy Orton, the Usos, Bray Wyatt, New Day and Shane McMahon.
Harwood and Wilder specifically said that the final nail in the coffin that meant they didn’t want to stay in WWE was when they realised Orton’s push for FTRKO to last longer wasn’t being accepted.
Now, the duo have signed with AEW and are currently the #1 ranked tag team in line to challenge Kenny Omega and Adam Page for the Tag Team Championship.
The teases of a new Four Horsemen have revolved around FTR, who have appeared in several segments on screen with the likes of Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard.
