The return to WWE programming of Roman Reigns who has been absent for a number of months has now been confirmed by the company.
The WWE Network Twitter account has announced that Reigns will be one of the contestants on the next episode of R-Truth’s gameshow on the WWE Network.
The show hits the Network on Tuesday, and the other contestant has been confirmed as NXT star Drake Maverick.
While it seems we may have to wait a little longer for Reigns’ return to the squared circle, his upcoming appearance on a WWE show presents a change since the start of the pandemic.
Reigns opted to not travel and stay at home with his family, which resulted in him being pulled from challenging Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, and since then WWE made a conscious effort to not mention his name and has even cut him out of video highlights on certain occasions.
Despite initial rumours that this was because he had heat with management for not wanting to travel, it’s actually since been said it was more the opposite and was actually an effort to protect him and his image. Whether that’s the right thing to do or not is up for debate.
It might not be in the capacity some people were hoping for, but it’ll be great to see Roman Reigns once again, and of course safety should remain the paramount priority.
