An update has emerged on an upcoming movie featuring WWE’s Roman Reigns, with the release date for the new project revealed.
With recent talk about Roman Reigns’ Hollywood career, the former WWE Champion’s next movie appearance has been confirmed for August.
Amazon MGM Studios has now confirmed that The Pickup, starring Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer, will premiere on Prime Video on August 6.
An official poster for the project was shared to Twitter, which you can view below.
Following Reigns being spotted in photos shared on set by Keke Palmer in April 2024, director Tim Story confirmed Reigns for The Pickup this past April, telling Vanity Fair:
“He probably shows as much charisma that I’ve ever seen from a celebrity or non-actor. I think his future in front of the camera will be ridiculous.”
Story revealed that Reigns will appear in a scene alongside Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer.
This same article highlighted Roman Reigns’ serious Hollywood aspirations, with the Tribal Chief telling Vanity Fair that he plans to put a lot of thought into the movie roles he agrees to following his in-ring retirement.
With his WWE contract set to expire after WrestleMania 42 in 2025, Roman Reigns has revealed he plans to wrestle for another one or two years after that.
The Pickup won’t be Reigns’ Hollywood debut however, with the former WWE Champion appearing alongside The Rock in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw in 2019.
