Roman Reigns To Be Pushed As Top Heel On WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns returned at SummerSlam seemingly with a new attitude, and this was confirmed last night on SmackDown when Reigns was unveiled as the newest client of Paul Heyman.

Following his return at SummerSlam, fans were uncertain about whether or not WWE was intending on pushing “The Big Dog” as a heel, but this has since been confirmed by a recent report.

PWInsider is reporting following last night’s SmackDown that the current plan is for WWE to position Roman Reigns as SmackDown’s top heel over the coming months. They note that Braun Strowman will also be a heel:

As you saw at the end of Friday Night Smackdown, Roman Reigns is now aligned with Paul Heyman.  In a piece of news that will please all the fans over the years who rejected Reigns as a babyface, PWInsider.com can confirm that going forward, the plans are to push Reigns as the top heel on the Smackdown brand going forward.

With Braun Strowman also recently turning heel (which as of this week, is planned to be a permanent role for Strowman).

Interestingly, the site is also reporting that with Strowman and Roman now heels, WWE has plans to push The Fiend Bray Wyatt as the top babyface on Friday Night SmackDown:

“We are told that WWE will be using Bray Wyatt as a babyface going forward with the idea of The Fiend being the top babyface for that side of the roster.”

Tomorrow night at Payback, we are going to see The Fiend defend his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns in a No Holds Barred triple threat match.
