Former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has discussed working with family members like The Rock.
After returning to WWE on the Day One edition of Raw, The Rock looked to be on a collision course with his cousin and “Head of the Table” Roman Reigns.
However, the two family members aligned with one another in The Bloodline and did battle with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL: Night One.
Reigns is no stranger to working closely with his family, creating The Bloodline faction with his cousins Jimmy and Jey Uso, while also bringing in his other cousin Solo Sikoa along the way.
Speaking with Jimmy Traina on SI Media podcast, Roman Reigns was asked about the gravity of him vs. The Rock. He answered:
“I never really looked at it like that,”
“It was more so that situation where you zoom out and you see all these family members together.”
“When you’re able to do that with someone from your family, with people from your Bloodline, there is just something about that.”
“Maybe you can ask the Kelce brothers [Jason Kelce & Travis Kelce] or the Harbaughs [Jim Harbaugh & John Harbaugh], it’s this weird, sharing such a huge main event level moment with so many eyes on it, the whole world was watching, especially with the way we have it now.”
“I wasn’t even looking at him like ‘this is DJ [Dwayne Johnson],’ it was just me and another family member. I mean that with the utmost love and respect.”
“It’s really hard to put into words how that can make a man feel and how proud I am to be able to attempt to articulate this. We’re very fortunate.”
It still remains unknown if or when The Rock will return to WWE television at the time of this writing.
Roman Reigns last wrestled in a win alongside CM Punk, Sami Zayn and The Usos over The New Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Bronson Reed in the Men’s WarGames at WWE Survivor Series.
