Following the September 13 episode of SmackDown, a new report has revealed the real reason for WWE’s change for Roman Reigns.
On the September 13 Season Premiere edition of SmackDown on USA Nwtwork, Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Steel Cage Match that kicked off the show.
Post match, The Bloodline jumped Rhodes until Roman Reigns made his return to make the save.
Later in the show, Roman and Cody were confronted by The Bloodline until they signed the contract to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at WWE Bad Blood 2024 in Atlanta on October 5
Originally, Reigns was advertised to make an appearance on SmackDown, but a few weeks ago, he was removed from promotional material, leading fans to wonder whether he had been pulled from the show.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, nothing that the reason Reigns was removed from advertisements was “to make him a ‘surprise'”.
It was also noted that Roman Reigns was not listed on the rundowns for the September 13 SmackDown.
However, Reigns was always planned for the show despite being removed from advertisements and not being listed on the rundowns.
WWE officially confirmed the tag team match with Reigns and Rhodes facing Sikoa and Fatu at Bad Blood with a graphic during SmackDown LowDown after SmackDown had finished.
It’s currently unknown when Reigns will make his next appearance prior to that match.
