An update has emerged on WWE’s Roman Reigns potentially starring upcoming movie, with the character Reigns is in talks to play revealed.
Following years of speculation about the Tribal Chief’s transition into Hollywood, it was reported on May 21 that Roman Reigns is in talks to star in an upcoming live-action movie based on Capcom’s ‘Street Fighter’ video game franchise.
Fightful Select has provided an update on Deadline’s original report, noting that nothing is finalised yet, per sources in the film and gaming industries.
The report noted that Reigns is being considered for the role of Akuma in the movie. Many fans didn’t expect this to be the case, with Akuma being a major antagonist in the series who has strong ties to Japanese culture.
Roman Reigns previously noted that he feels that he feels he only has “another year or two max” in wrestling after his current contract expires following WrestleMania 42 in April 2026.
During this same interview, Reigns expressed interest in pursuing an acting career in Hollywood, noting that he wants to work with great filmmakers and actors he can learn from.
Roman Reigns last wrestled at WrestleMania 41, where he was pinned by Seth Rollins following a betrayal from Paul Heyman in their three-way main event also featuring CM Punk.
