A major update has emerged on the status of Roman Reigns for the upcoming WWE Royal Rumble 2026 premium live event.
Roman Reigns has been off WWE TV since Survivor Series WarGames in November where Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Logan Paul defeated Reigns, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes and The Usos in WarGames.
Reigns has been featured on some promotional posters and other material for the upcoming Rumble event, suggesting a return at the event was likely.
During tonight’s January 23 episode of WWE SmackDown, it was officially announced that Reigns will be entering the Rumble match.
Reigns is a former Rumble winner, having won the 30-man match back in 2015.
This year, he joins the men’s lineup which, as of this writing, is made up of Cody Rhodes, GUNTHER, Jey Uso, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee and Penta.
UPDATE: Reigns’ former Bloodline teammate Solo Sikoa has also been confirmed for the men’s Royal Rumble this year for what will be his first ever Rumble match.
Newly confirmed for the women’s match as of tonight are Jordynne Grace, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
You can find an ongoing list of all confirmed entrants for both Rumble matches at this link.
WWE Royal Rumble 2026 takes place next Saturday, January 31, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Next week’s SmackDown will also be taking place in Riyadh the night before the Rumble.
