Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has commented on the uncertainty within WWE, following recent developments.
We’re 11 days into 2023 and the year is already shaping up to be one of the biggest years in wrestling news history.
The WWE management team has significantly changed over the past week, with Vince McMahon returning to the board of directors.
During a recent YouTube Gaming stream, Rousey was asked about her status for the February 3 edition of SmackDown in South Carolina.
Rousey wouldn’t confirm whether or not she’s slated to appear, noting:
“If you haven’t noticed, everything’s a little bit in flux with the WWE right now. I don’t think anybody knows what’s going on with anybody this week, let alone weeks from now.”
Stephanie McMahon has since shared a statement announcing her resignation from WWE. She had been serving as an official co-CEO since Vince McMahon’s departure in July 2022.
Reports since Stephanie’s resignation have indicated that WWE has agreed in principle to sell to the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.
It’s important to make clear that there has not been an official announcement regarding a sale to Saudi Arabia yet.
