Ronda Rousey Admits She Sometimes Takes WWE Fan Reactions Personally

Ronda Rousey has admitted that she sometimes finds it hard not to take WWE fan reactions personally.

The former UFC star appeared bitter with the fanbase in her recent promos backstage at Royal Rumble, and on last week’s edition of WWE Raw, similar to her 2019 character ahead of WrestleMania 35. Rousey reportedly spoken to about her attitude, ahead of her appearance on that week’s edition of SmackDown.

During a gaming stream on Facebook, Rousey noted that while she does play a character to a degree, she’s still ‘Ronda Rousey’ in WWE, so she does take some of the trash talk personally. Opening up about pressure she feels when headlining shows, Rousey said:

It’s hard not to take it (trash talk) personally from the fans because I don’t go out there as — I mean I do go out there as a character but I am also — I am actually Ronda Rousey so I don’t play Ronda Rousey on television. So sometimes I take it personally from the fans, not so much from the wrestlers. The fans, I do.

It’s such pressure when I’m the last on the show because I feel like it’s my responsibility to retain the ratings and deliver, you know? You don’t want people to be disappointed.

Rousey is set to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37. The former Raw Women’s Champion is scheduled to be at every WWE SmackDown taping up until WrestleMania week.
