Here’s an update on the WWE status of Ronda Rousey, following her return and victory at WWE Royal Rumble.
During Saturday’s event, Rousey won the women’s Rumble match as a surprise entrant, last eliminating SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. The Baddest Woman on the Planet is set to appear on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Rousey will be considered part of the SmackDown roster moving forward. Meltzer had previously reported that WWE plans for Rousey to face Flair at WrestleMania 38.
Prior to WWE Royal Rumble 2022, Rousey hadn’t wrestled since losing the Raw Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Meltzer recently stated that a match with Becky Lynch is currently pencilled in for WrestleMania 39 next year.
More details have emerged on WWE’s plans for women’s title matches at this year’s WrestleMania, which you can read about here.
