The 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match is in the books, and with it, a whole host of reports regarding how much of a pain the match was to put together have come to light.
Shane McMahon entered the match at number 28, and reportedly received a lot of backstage heat for how he booked the match.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is noting that, while not internally listed as a producer, Shane was heavily involved in the match, particularly a lot of the changes that were made late on.
One source noted to Fightful that, even seperate from that, it was the most frustrating and stressful experience of their WWE careers, with things changing right up to the minute people were going through the curtain.
Fightful notes specifically that Vince McMahon changed the order of the men’s Royal Rumble, and there were a few times where the people going out to the ring didn’t know who they were eliminating.
