Triple H Congratulates Royce Keys After WWE SmackDown Debut

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has commented on Royce Keys’ SmackDown debut, sharing a photo with the new star.

With Royce Keys making his WWE debut during January’s Royal Rumble match, the former “Powerhouse Hobbs” finally made his SmackDown debut on the April 10 episode.

Friday’s show saw Keys face off against Berto in singles action, with the former AEW star picking up the victory in under three minutes.

Triple H has now taken to Twitter to share a photo with Royce Keys, which you can view below.

Sharing a congratulatory message, Triple H wrote:

Just the beginning… congratulations @realRoyceKeys on a dominant #SmackDown debut.

Following his SmackDown in-ring debut, Keys was confronted by Solo Sikoa in a backstage interview segment, with Solo Sikoa telling him that his door is always open if the powerhouse needs anything.

Royce Keys joining the MFTs seems an odd move on paper, however it would make sense for Solo Sikoa to be looking for replacements, with Tama Tonga’s exit from the group being teased in recent weeks.

Fans had been anticipating Royce Keys’ Raw or SmackDown debut for a while, with there being almost 70 days between his WWE debut and his first appearance on live weekly TV.

Keys had been competing in dark matches ahead of Raw and SmackDown episodes ahead of his TV debut, defeating the likes of Rayo Americano, Rey Fenix, Alex Shelley and most recently Brutus Creed in non-televised matches.

The decision to keep a recent debutant off TV left many fans scratching their heads, but it appears that Keys is hitting the ground running, establishing himself as a prospect on the blue brand.

With the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal officially announced for the SmackDown before WrestleMania 42, a dominant showing in this match would make many pay attention to the former AEW TNT Champion.
