A potential rumor killer has emerged on an AEW debut speculated to take place during tonight’s March 15 episode of Dynamite.
Jade Cargill is holding an open challenge for the TBS Championship on tonight’s show, which takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
It’s been announced that her challenger will be Canadian, and the name a lot of people are expecting is Taya Valkyrie.
It’s been reported that Valkyrie is headed to either AEW or WWE, and she pulled out of an overseas tour this week which seems to line up to make her available for tonight’s show.
However, speaking with WrestleZone, she played down the idea that she’ll be debuting, saying:
“I will be in Los Angeles, California. I will be here in my house with my dogs. John (Morrison) will be back from Australia, so yeah, I’ll be here.
Of course take that with a pinch of salt though because she’s not exactly going to say “yeah, it’s me, sorry for ruining the surprise”, but for what it’s worth, that’s what she said when she was asked about it.
Speaking more generally about the rumors of going to either AEW or WWE, she said:
“I love gossip. I woke up to a bunch of texts from people and social media blowing up, but it is what it is. It’s gossip, people will talk. Honestly, keep talking.
“I’m just gonna sit here and keep doing my thing. Just enjoy the ride, everybody. Enjoy the ride.
“You’re meant to be entertained. Stop trying to figure it all out. It will all work out in the end. So enjoy it. Watch pro wrestling everywhere.
“I obviously have dedicated over a decade of my life to this, and I’m going to continue to do that. So, just enjoy the show.”
Valkyrie had previously been with WWE as Franky Monet in NXT in 2021, but was released due to the company’s infamous “cost cutting” during COVID.
