Rumor Killer On Popular AEW Star Being Gone From The Company AEW

A new report has revealed a rumor killer on a popular AEW star being gone from the company.

After being released from WWE in November 2021, Keith Lee made his AEW debut on the February 9, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite to defeat Isiah Kassidy.

The former NXT Champion went on to align with Swerve Strickland to form “Swerve In Our Glory” and win the AEW World Tag Team Championships. After losing the titles to The Acclaimed, Lee and Strickland feuded with Swerve forming Mogul Affiliates in the aftermath of their partnership.

Since May, Lee has only worked six matches with his most recent bout taking place on the August 2 edition of AEW Rampage in a trios win with The Hardys.

This past week has seen rumors circulating that the former WWE star walked out of All Elite Wrestling.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update on the rumor, noting that Keith Lee did not in fact leave AEW. The report notes that the story is untrue and was instead a miscommunication between the two sides.

The miscommunication transpired when Lee was brought in for last week’s AEW Dynamite and Rampage tapings. At some point, Lee wasn’t being used for Dynamite and left the building, which is regularly done when people are told they aren’t needed for the show.

However, he was booked for Rampage at some point, but it wasn’t relayed to him before he had already left the tapings, so the card had to be adjusted.

The report also notes that there isn’t any heat between Keith Lee and All Elite Wrestling over the situation. Those close to the situation indicate that it was blown out of proportion on social media.

Lee is currently set to be present at tonight’s AEW Dynamite and Collision tapings in Duluth, Georgia.

WrestleTalk will provide any news from tonight’s live AEW Dynamite when they become available.
