A rumor killer has emerged regarding some recent speculation about Roman Reigns’ Hell in a Cell Universal Championship match.
At Hell in a Cell 2020, The Tribal Chief defended his title against Jey Uso in a compelling “I Quit” match. With Reigns and Jimmy Uso not seeing eye to eye with one another since Jimmy’s return, many fans have been speculating that these two will go head-to-head at Hell in a Cell 2021.
Unfortunately, as per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Reigns will not be facing Uso at the June pay-per-view. The report admitted that the match would make sense, however the contest is not currently scheduled for Hell in a Cell.
Reigns most recently defended his Universal Championship against Cesaro at WrestleMania Backlash. After the bout, Seth Rollins attacked Cesaro as Reigns watched on.
Following WrestleMania Backlash, Rollins stated that a Shield reunion is not on the cards, as he is already leagues above The Swiss Superman.
WWE has announced that SummerSlam will take place on August 21. A recent report noted that Roman Reigns vs John Cena is being considered for The Biggest Party of the Summer.
