A rumor killer has emerged regarding Sasha Banks’ WWE absence after missing recent WWE shows, including SummerSlam.
Sasha Banks did not appear on the August 20 episode of SmackDown ahead of her SummerSlam match with Bianca Belair. The next night at SummerSlam, it was announced that Banks was unable to compete for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Following SmackDown, rumors that Banks’ absence was part of a larger story with Belair began to circulate. Fightful Select have confirmed that Banks missing WWE events is not part of a storyline.
The report stated that those who Fightful had spoken to had noted that they hadn’t seen Banks backstage at the Allegiant Stadium during the show. Wrestling Inc had previously reported that Banks was officially off SummerSlam.
Becky Lynch made her surprise return during The Biggest Party of the Summer, challenging Bianca Belair to an impromptu title match. Lynch pinned Belair in under a minute to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.
