WWE Money in the Bank is this Sunday and the actual Money in the Bank match has already been recorded. One person who qualified for the match but won’t be participating is Apollo Crews.
It was reported earlier in the week that Apollo could be turning heel as part of his injury storyline. It’s being reported his injury and subsequent missing the ladder match would be motivation for the turn.
Now, in the lastest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer is reporting Crews’ heel turn could actually be part of a larger plan. The larger plan would see Apollo becoming a member in a new faction.
The faction being discussed is a bit of a random stable if you ask me. It would include Apollo Crews, Shane Thorne, Brendan Vink, and MVP.
What’s the motivation for those 4 to be put together? What do they have in common?
I’m not sure, but I love a good faction. Meltzer did say this was just one possible direction for the Apollo story to go in and that nothing has been confirmed but it was one of the options being discussed for Crews.
WWE is supposedly high on Brendan Vink and Crews is certainly a talented in-ring worker. Apollo hasn’t quite connected with the WWE audience as a face.
Maybe this is one of those instances where a random grouping of people makes for some kind of unexpected spark. We’ll just have to see what happens over the next few weeks.
