Just yesterday I was writing that it was nice to hear that WWE was looking to push NXT star Ridge Holland, so I guess it was only a matter of time before Vince McMahon brought us back to reality by giving up one one of the company’s most talented wrestlers.
Just three weeks ago, Mustafa Ali returned to WWE TV in a six-man tag match, partnering Ricochet and Cedric Alexander in an impressive win over new RAW stable, the Hurt Business.
However, it appears that this was all the push Ali was going to get, because last week he was tapped out by Bobby Lashley, and this week he didn’t appear at all.
In fact, the only appearance he did make, was on WWE Main Event. Yes, Main Event is actually still a thing, and it is unfortunately where everyone Vince gives up on goes to wrestle, because if they’re being paid, you can bet they’ll be wrestling somewhere.
Not only was he on Main Event, but he lost to Riddick Moss, and if that’s not an illustration of how Vince sees Mustafa Ali in WWE, I don’t know what is. Moss has won a few times in a row on Main Event, but to have him beat Mustafa Ali is pretty much unforgivable.
This is not the first time Ali has had a push killed prematurely either, as it was widely expected he would be revealed as SmackDown’s mystery hacker, which appears to have been completely swept under the carpet.
Don’t worry Ali, I’m sure Shane will have you on Raw Underground…so you can lose to Babatunde.
