Rumor: Vince McMahon Unhappy With NXT And Could Shake Things Up

Apparently, Vince McMahon is not in a great mood at the moment. Tonight, WWE announced they are shaking things up creatively.

Paul Heyman is out as executive director of Raw. Bruce Prichard is now in charge of both SmackDown and Raw. WrestlingNew.co is reporting part of this is because Brichard’s direction is more in-line with McMahon’s and because SmackDown’s ratings are doing better than Raw’s.

I’m sure no one mentioned to Vince that in an era where so many people are struggling and out of work, that cable and streaming services might be the first of cutbacks. That could mean the USA network and Raw are losing viewers through no fault of their creative.

SmackDown, on the other hand, is on a Network readily available for free and may have not seen the drop off because it’s in more homes.

Since Vince is focused on ratings, he’s also noticed NXT has been consistently losing the Wednesday night ratings to AEW. As such, WrestlingNews.Co is also reporting Vince is unhappy with NXT.

Fortunately, it appears their creative team is safe at the moment. However, what does Vince think is the answer? More main roster stars.

You know, the ones that aren’t currently drawing on Monday’s and Friday’s. There were some rumors of Orton and Ciampa’s twitter feud could be turned into a match down the line even though it’s not currently part of the plans.

Again, NXT could be related to declining subscribers, and also just fewer people are watching wrestling at the moment. Whatever the case, NXT die-hard fans won’t be thrilled if Vince makes NXT more like the shows on Friday and Monday.
