Ever since he returned at SummerSlam 2020 to spear Elias on the pre-show, speculation has intensified over a possible in-ring return for the Rated-R superstar Edge, who was forced to retire from wrestling in 2011 due to a neck injury.
Edge denied these reports back in October, but did recently sign what was described as a “major” new contract with WWE, although the details of the contract are unknown.
PWInsider, which has a very good track record for reporting backstage news, is now speculating that we will see Edge back in the ring in 2020, and that he could in fact be a surprise entrant in the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
It is also being speculated that he could come back for more than just one match, with several matches reportedly being talked about at major shows throughout the year.
PWInsider notes that the talk has persisted within WWE and that there continues to be chatter on how he is headed back to the ring.
Edge’s retirement was a horrible moment for the world of wrestling. He had been one of the most popular superstars in the sport for around 15 years, and to see him forced out of the ring was cruel.
If he is able to return, it would be a huge moment for Edge and all of his fans.
Stay turned for more on Edge’s possible return.
