Randy Orton is arguably on the run of his career right now, following his heel turn on former tag team partner Edge on the Raw after the Royal Rumble in January 2020.
WrestleTalk exclusively reported a few weeks ago that upon hearing that the aforementioned Edge wouldn’t be cleared for SummerSlam, Orton began pitching to work with some talent from NXT.

This has since been corroborated by Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with Dave adding that the match will be the main event of the big pay-per-view.
It has also been reported that the Orton and Drew feud was set to begin on this week’s Raw. However, when the script was torn up just hours before the show, this angle was one of the things scrapped
WWE announced during SmackDown that Randy Orton will be on Raw this week to declare who his next victim will be, so many have speculated that here is where we will see his championship feud with Drew McIntyre begin.
