Last night, WWE announced that the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be taking place on Friday Night SmackDown next week as opposed to WrestleMania 37 that weekend.
As nothing was mentioned about the Women’s Battle Royal, many speculated that WWE would be announcing the match for WrestleMania over the coming days, but it appears as if this isn’t the case.
In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that it appears as if there will be no women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania this year:
It would also appear that there would be no women’s Battle Royal, since there aren’t enough women on the main roster to add a Battle Royal. Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Peyton Royce, Alexa Bliss, Billie Kay, Carmella and Reckoning (Mia Yim) are the only women not accounted for
While not saying this was the only reason for the match not taking place, Meltzer pointed out that there are only seven women who don’t have either confirmed or planned matches for WrestleMania this month.
