Rusev Comments On WWE Future Speculation

The last time we saw Rusev on our screens was as part of the 51-man battle royal at Super ShowDown which was won by Mansoor (what happened to him?).

Since then there has been a bit of speculation about his future in WWE, but it was reported in June in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he and his wife Lana had both requested time off from WWE, and that is why they’ve been absent for so long.

Rusev, who is a wonderfully talented Twitter troll, has now commented on the speculation regarding his future in a classic Rusev way.

A fan asked him prior to last night’s SmackDown whether he would return with a new haircut, to which Rusev said: “I actually do!”

He made another tweet in response to the same original fan tweet and wrote, “How long can you hold your breath ?!?!?” perhaps suggesting the fan would be waiting a long time before a return actually takes place.

Rusev responded to another tweet that said he and wife Lana “are currently on a break from WWE, and aren’t sure what their next step is going to be.”

The same late June report on Rusev stated that his WWE contract was expiring “relatively soon” but no exact date was given.

Unfortunately for Rusev, he will never be seen as anything other than an evil foreign heel while he’s in WWE, so perhaps his fortune lies elsewhere.
