Rusev has made his first comments after returning to WWE on tonight’s Raw after WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rusev’s comeback saw him attack the Alpha Academy’s Otis and Akira Tozawa as they were about to challenge New Day for the World Tag Team Championship.
In a short video posted on social media by WWE after the match, Rusev said:
“It’s been too long. Five long years, but finally Rusev is back where he belongs, and this time I will take what’s rightfully mine – everything.”
Rusev was released by AEW in February after over a year of inactivity.
He’d joined AEW in 2020 after initially being released by WWE, using the name Miro and having a reign with the TNT Championship.
However, reports indicated he’d had some disagreements with AEW CEO Tony Khan, and he was rarely used in 2023 and not used at all in 2024.
Initially, the belief is that his wife Lana (CJ Perry) won’t be returning to WWE with him, and she wasn’t with him tonight, but she’s instead thought to have signed a WWE Legends contract, which would likely allow her to make some appearances, have official merch, be in video games, and things like that.
