Former WWE Champion Big E has confirmed that Rusev – known as Miro in AEW – will be making a return to WWE.
In early February, news emerged that Miro/Rusev had been released from his AEW contract after over a year of inactivity.
At the start of April it was reported that he had been at WWE Headquarters signing a deal to return to WWE and was working on plans for his comeback.
Big E has now stated that Rusev himself has confirmed the news to him.
During a WWE/Fanatics livestream today, Big E and Tyler Breeze were opening WWE trading cards when they opened a pack that contained a Rusev 2017 card.
Upon seeing the card, Big E said:
“I reached out to him and he confirmed that the news is indeed true. I don’t know when he’ll be back. A blast from the past and actually it’s very topical because he has just announced that he is returning to the squared circle here in World Wrestling Entertainment.”
No exact details have emerged on how or when Rusev will return to WWE TV – we’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
