Japanese wrestler Ryo Mizunami has been hospitalised due to symptoms developed after testing positive for COVID-19.
As per PWInsider, Mizunami tested positive for COVID-19 on July 26. She had a fever, and reportedly has started to develop pneumonia from her illness.
Mizunami is best known for her AEW run earlier this year, even challenging Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Championship at the Revolution pay-per-view after winning the Championship Eliminator Tournament. She last competed for AEW on Dark: Elevation in April.
The report confirmed a number of other Japanese stars have tested positive for COVID-19, including SEADLINNNG talents Nanae Takahashi and Honori Hana. The rest of the roster produced negative tests. Both Takahashi and Hana are recovering at home.
SEADLINNNG had postponed their show at Shinkiba 1st Ring, previously scheduled for July 26.
Ami Miura of ActWres Girl’z has also tested positive, following a headache and fever.
We here at WrestleTalk wish Ryo Mizunami, Nanae Takahashi, Honori Hana and Ami Miura safe and healthy recoveries.
