Sami Callihan Offers Update On Ankle Injury

IMPACT star Sami Callihan has provided an update on his recovery from a brutal ankle injury suffered during a set of TV tapings in September.

When news first broke about Callihan’s injury, it was reported that the former IMPACT World Champion isn’t expected to return to action until 2022.

On the Battleground podcast, Callihan recalled his injury, comparing it to Sid Viscious breaking his leg at WCW Sin 2001. Noting that surgery stitches have now been removed, Callihan said:

“It was broken. I straight Sid Viscious’d myself, it snapped in half. It was gross.”

“(Recovery) is going great. I’m like four weeks into recovery right now, finally got the stitches out from surgery and able to do a little bit of range of motion. Not going to be able to put any pressure on it for another four or five weeks and then I’ll start rehab. You can’t get rid of me that easy. Trust me, when I come back, there will be hell to pay and you’ll see an entirely new Death Machine.”

At Bound for Glory, Josh Alexander defeated Christian Cage for the IMPACT World Championship, before Moose cashed in his Call Your Shot contract to win the gold from Alexander.

A new #1 contender for Moose’s title was decided during the recent set of IMPACT TV tapings.
