Sami Zayn was off WWE TV from July 23 until he returned on the August 27 SmackDown, and was a guest on today’s episode of WWE’s The Bump.
During the show, Zayn claimed he can’t explain why he was absent due to “legal reasons”, which would seem to be the continuation of the storyline revolving around his ‘conspiracy theory’ character.
He said:
“Uh, there are certain legal reasons why I can’t get too into it. But anybody who’s followed the last year can connect the dots (during) the last year of my career. I have to be very delicate with my choice of words for legal reasons, but certain – let’s say plots – perhaps against me. Again, I’m just tiptoeing here. I shouldn’t even be talking about it. You will find out in due time what I’ve been up to.”
For months, the storyline was that Sami Zayn had been making a documentary to show the “evidence” of the plot against him, but that hasn’t really been mentioned for a little while now.
He returned to action on this past Friday’s SmackDown with a win over Dominik Mysterio.
