While few wrestlers walk away from a match with Gunther without some war wounds, Sami Zayn may have the most unique souvenir of a battle with The Ring General yet.

Posting to Twitter, Zayn showed off an image of the t-shirt he wore during his and Kevin Owens’ tag title match against Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser on Monday Night Raw.

On the back of the t-shirt is a very visible imprint of a boot (see below), which Zayn humorously captioned:

Me: what? Oh yeah, I wrestled Gunther. Why do you ask?

Despite the damage sustained at the hands of the Intercontinental Champion, Zayn and Owens managed to retain their Undisputed Tag Team Championship due in part to some interference from Matt Riddle.

The reigning champions will now set their sights on the winners of the tag team number one contenders gauntlet match that takes place on this week’s Smackdown (June 16).

Interestingly, WWE has been in the process of revamping many of its title designs as of late, with new belts being introduced for the men’s and women’s world titles.

As of yet there has been no report of new tag championships also being imminent, however, given some recent comments regarding Triple H’s traditionalist views on the topic, perhaps Zayn and Owens may be next in line for some new hardware?
