WWE star Sami Zayn has admitted that he misses working with former AEW World Champion and company EVP Kenny Omega.
Anyone familiar with Sami Zayn (or his NXT gear) knows that the popular star has wrestled all over the world.
During his travels, Zayn met and became friends with a number of stars currently at the top of the mountain in their respective wrestling promotions.
In an interview with Peter Rosenberg, Zayn was asked if there are any names from other promotions he wants to face.
After naming MJF and Dante Martin, Zayn noted that he’d like to work with Kenny Omega again.
Discussing their relationship, Zayn said:
“It’s guys that I’ve worked with before that I just miss and that I would love to work with again now like Kenny Omega just as an example.
“I’m listing a lot of AEW guys here, but you know I haven’t seen him in 10 years. That’s insane.
“The last time I saw him was in December of 2012 and, you know, I miss him and I miss working him.
“He was super easy to work — he was a lot like me actually, I thought, very detail-oriented.”
Zayn last wrestled Omega at the December 2012 DDT Never Mind show, with Omega defeating ‘El Generico’ to win the KO-D Openweight Title.
Omega returned to the ring at the November 19 Full Gear pay-per-view, teaming with the Young Bucks to unsuccessfully challenge for Death Triangle’s Trios Championship.
The two teams are currently engaged in a Best of Seven series.
Death Triangle are currently leading the series two wins to The Elite’s one victory.
Sami Zayn recently earned the trust of the Bloodline faction after helping the group score a victory in their WarGames bout at Survivor Series.
MJF recently reacted to Sami Zayn’s comments about him, which you can read about right here.
