Sami Zayn Vs. Roman Reigns Plans Revealed After Royal Rumble WWE

The plan for Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns following the final segment at Royal Rumble has now been revealed.

In the main event of the January 28 premium live event, Roman Reigns defeated Kevin Owens to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Following the bout, the Bloodline continued to beat Kevin Owens down. Reigns eventually handed Sami Zayn a chair and demanded that he join in.

Zayn ultimately turned on Reigns and the Bloodline, striking the Tribal Chief with the chair. While Jey Uso walked away from the scene conflicted, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa and Reigns brutalized Zayn.

During the latest Wrestling Observer Daily Update, Dave Meltzer revealed that Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn is ‘as confirmed as it can be’ for Elimination Chamber, following heavy speculation.

Discussing the plans, Meltzer wrote:

“Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn is now as confirmed as it can be for the 2/18 Elimination Chamber show main event in Montreal.

“I’m not sure what the men’s chamber match would be for since you’ve got Cody Rhodes already for the main event at WrestleMania.

“Of course this is WWE and everything is subject to change, but major changes to planned PPV shows have been less with Paul Levesque in charge.

It had been heavily rumored that the bout would take place at the February 18 premium live event, as Elimination Chamber emanates from the Bell Centre in Zayn’s home province of Quebec, Canada.

Cody Rhodes appears to be set to face the victor of this match, with the American Nightmare winning the 2023 Royal Rumble match to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 39 in April.

WWE was impressed by the performances of several stars at the event, which you can read more about right here.

Jey Uso has also teased his departure from the Bloodline, as well as another match against Roman Reigns.
