The real reason for Sami Zayn’s absence from WWE TV ahead of WrestleMania 41 has been revealed.

With WrestleMania 41 just a month away, the company’s top stars are appearing on TV more to establish rivalries ahead of the April 19-20 PLE.

One star who has recently been absent from WWE is Sami Zayn, who hasn’t appeared for the company since losing to Kevin Owens in an unsanctioned match at the March 1 Elimination Chamber PLE.

While it was announced that Zayn would be out of action ‘indefinitely’, details have emerged on the real reason for his absence.

Per Fightful Select, the word backstage was that Zayn actually requested time off, which is why he hasn’t been appearing for the company.

WWE is currently on its pre-WrestleMania European tour, with the March 17 Raw episode emanating from Brussels, Belgium, and the March 21 SmackDown episode set to air from Bologna, Italy.

Interestingly, Sami Zayn has been advertised for WWE’s next European TV tour, ahead of an upcoming Premium Live Event.
