Samoa Joe Explains Why He’s Not In Favor Of The ‘Forbidden Door’

NXT Champion Samoa Joe has explained why he’s not in favor of a ‘Forbidden Door’ and wrestlers from different promotions working together.

This is obviously something AEW has done a lot with the likes of IMPACT, the NWA and NJPW, but WWE barely ever does, although the company did try to work with New Japan earlier this year as a way to persuade Daniel Bryan to re-sign.

Speaking on SO CATCH by Hal 2, Samoa Joe was asked if he’d ever want to work with another promotion, and replied:

“I work for a company. If I played for a major football club, you wouldn’t lend me out on the weekend to go play for the rival team. (Lionel) Messi ain’t doing day shifts over at Manchester United. I understand some fans want for that and they want to see that, but at the same time, just with the whole politics of that type of situation, it wouldn’t be a good outcome anyways. Nobody wants to look bad in that situation, everyone’s getting pushed and pulled in a certain way and it becomes a convoluted mess. If guys want to show and get down with Samoa Joe, get on my level, they come find me and let’s do this. I ain’t making house calls right now.”

What Joe described pretty much happened a couple of weeks ago with the finish to Kenny Omega vs Andrade El Idolo match at AAA TripleMania being changed.

Joe recently beat Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship at TakeOver 36 and looks likely to defend soon against Johnny Gargano, LA Knight or Pete Dunne.
