Samoa Joe Reveals When He Knew CM Punk Would Return

Samoa Joe has provided his insight into when he knew that CM Punk would be returning to wrestling.

Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Joe said that when Punk debuted on WWE Backstage he knew he would come back. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:

“If I know one thing about Punk: if he’s out on something, he’s out on it. You won’t see him being around it, you won’t see him looking at it, you won’t see him staring at it, it’s out of his life and the minute I saw him on the FOX set, I knew his eyes were turning back towards it, and I think he was just looking for the right place at the right time and he wanted to be happy with it and I think he is. From what I’ve seen, I would gather that he is, so I’m stoked for him and I’m and I’m happy to see him back.”

CM Punk made his return to pro wrestling at ‘The First Dance’ episode of AEW Rampage on August 20, 2021.

Samoa Joe and CM Punk have a lot of history dating back to their time in Ring of Honor.

Their trilogy of matches received critical acclaim with their second match receiving the first five-star rating for a North American match from Dave Meltzer in seven years.
