Karrion Kross made his main roster debut on the July 19 episode of Raw, where he lost to Jeff Hardy inside of three minutes, much to the bewilderment of many fans watching, considering his status as the then-undefeated NXT Champion.
Kross has been working both Raw and NXT while he has the championship. He is scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against Samoa Joe this Sunday at NXT Takeover 36.
Joe recently attended WWE’s tryouts in Las Vegas this week, where he was asked by WrestlingInc’s Managing Editor Nick Hausman whether he was keeping tabs on Kross’ main roster run.
Joe said:
“Of course, why wouldn’t I? It’s on Monday night, in the comfort of my home, why wouldn’t I? I always keep track of stuff and obviously he was having some troubles and some cracks in the armor. I’m going to exploit those on Sunday and have a new NXT Champion. It all works out very well for me, I’ve kept abreast of it, he’s doing terrible (on RAW).”
Joe also recently spoke about the rumoured changes coming to NXT, where he said that he hopes the brand continues to evolve.
