Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles in Taiwan

Fans in Taiwan were treated to an AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe dream match main event as the SmackDown Live team finished up their tour of the Far East.

The WWE Champion retained his title with a pinfall victory over The Samoan Submission Machine in the main event at the Taipei Arena on Sunday.

Styles and Joe met in many classic bouts during their run with IMPACT Wrestling but are yet to face each other one-on-one on a major televised WWE show.

Also on the Taiwan show, Shinsuke Nakamura made an appearance despite still being on crutches after being bitten by a police dog earlier in the week.

Shin, who was originally scheduled to face Styles, cut a promo about not being able to perform due to injury and was interrupted by Joe, who wanted the title shot instead. The King of Strong Style went for a low blow and Joe went for the Coquina Clutch, until the champ ran out and separated them.

Also on the show, Daniel Bryan defeated The Miz, The New Day beat The Bar, Sin Cara defeated Hideo Itami, Asuka, Becky Lynch and Naomi beat Carmella, Peyton Royce and Lana, Shelton Benjamin pinned Tye Dillinger, and The Bludgeon Brothers retained the SmackDown Tag Team Titles in a fatal four way over The Usos, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and Rusev and Aiden English.

The blue brand crew also performed on two shows in Tokyo as part of the tour.
