Samoa Joe was able to survive a vicious match with Minoru Suzuki to capture the ROH Television Championship on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite (April 13) although sadly his celebration was cut significantly short.
After the match, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt bring out a “special present” – a gift box with a hole in the bottom of it by which Lethal displayed a big middle finger salute to Samoa Joe before the lights cut out.
When they came back on the 7 foot 3, professional basketball player turned AEW recruit, Satnam Singh appeared in the ring and eventually put Joe’s head in a “modified claw” which left him incapacitated to receive a Lethal Injection from Jay Lethal as the three stood tall over Samoa Joe’s lifeless body to end the episode.
AEW announced Singh’s signing in September 2021 and he had been training at the Nightmare Factory in Atlanta, Georgia.
While an “Atlanta training facility” was referenced by commentary, the Cody Rhodes founded wrestling school wasn’t specifically mentioned by name.
