Last week, it was announced by AAA that AAA Mega Champion Kenny Omega would not be able to compete at the upcoming TripleMania Regia event, and would be vacating the title.
Omega was scheduled to defend the championship on the show against Hijo del Vikingo, who will battle for the vacant championship on the show. AAA announced the first replacement for Omega on Twitter today (November 23).
AAA announced that Samuray Del Dol (FKA Kalisto in WWE) will be in the match to determine the new champion. The match is scheduled to be multi-man, as Del Sol was listed as the ‘first’ contender.

Samuray Del Sol recently made his AEW debut, teaming with Aero Star in a losing effort against AAA Tag Team Champions FTR, before he ended up as the center of controversy after the show involving Chris Jericho and Amanda Huber.
