A WWE star believes everyone is ready for WWE to host a Premium Live Event in Mexico.
Coming off a highly successful WWE Backlash event in Puerto Rico, many fans and performers are wondering what country WWE will bring a Premium Live Event to next.
Despite Mexico always being a hotbed for professional wrestling for decades, the company has never hosted a major event in Mexico.
In a new interview with the Getting Over podcast ahead of Backlash, Santos Escobar discussed the next step for WWE in an international sense and how Mexico is ready for a Premium Live Event or even WrestleMania. He said:
“Trust me, this weekend means a lot. Not just to me, but to any other Latino Americans out there.”
“Of course, Puerto Rico is gonna be amazing, but what’s the next step? Mexico City? The Aztec Stadium, over 110,000 people there for a premium live event maybe, for a WrestleMania maybe?”
“The superstars are ready for it, we’re ready for it, Mexico is ready for it, Latin America is ready for it.”
“Yes, every time I can, I mention it to who ever wants to listen. The stage is there, it’s set. We’re ready to go, take over the world.”
WWE is set to return to Saudi Arabia later this month on May 27 for the Night of Champions event. Then in July, the company will also return to London for the Money In The Bank show at O2 Arena.
As previously reported, Santos Escobar revealed that Rey Mysterio changed his perspective on professional wrestling in a recent interview.
