Saraya Addresses Paige Name Change Amid WWE Return Speculation

Saraya Addresses Paige Name Change Amid WWE Return Speculation WWE/AEW

Saraya has addressed changing her ring name back to Paige amid speculation linking her with a WWE return.

Both before and following her official AEW exit in March speculation had been mounting regarding Saraya potentially making a return to WWE, with the former two-time Divas Champion leaving the door open to the possibility when addressing it publicly.

While she is currently focusing on endeavours outside of the ring, such as her new ‘Rulebreakers with Saraya’ podcast – and the release of her memoir, the former AEW star has addressed whether she would like to make her wrestling return under her real name or her former WWE name Paige.

Speaking on One-on-One with Andro Mammo, Saraya revealed that her preference is to return as Paige, discussing the differences she feels that character has compared to Saraya.

She explained:

“Oh I would take Paige again. I love that character. I love Paige, I love the music, she was a badass.

“I feel like being Saraya – Saraya was a different character in AEW, it’s more of like a chickens**t heel, which was fun, but I prefer Paige, for sure.

“And if I was to be Saraya, it would be a Paige version of Saraya.”

When addressing the links to WWE earlier this month, Saraya said that she had not yet spoken to her former employer despite the immense amount of speculation among fans.

We will provide further updates on Saraya’s future post-AEW as more news becomes available.
